Summers, Thelma M. (nee Stroup)
Thelma Marie Summers (nee Stroup) of Bourbon, MO passed Friday, May 13, 2011 at the age of 76 years.
Marie, as she was known, was born on September 24, 1934, in Washington County, Missouri to William Edward Stroup and Myrtle (nee George) Stroup, one of 6 children. She married William Summers on May 23, 1964, in Bourbon, Missouri. She worked at Proctor Products and for Fidelity Telephone for many years in housekeeping. She enjoyed yard sales, quilting, and collecting bells and angels. Marie enjoyed attending her church, Full Gospel Assembly of God in Sullivan.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Ozkal of Bourbon; five grandchildren, Michael Johnson and wife Jodie of Bourbon, April Krebs and husband Art of Lowry City, MO, Derek Ozkal and wife Hannah of Bonner Springs, KS, Kevin Ozkal of Garden Grove, Iowa, and Devin Ozkal of Nevada, MO; three great-grandchildren, Danny and Timmy Johnson and A.J. Krebs; a brother, Thomas Stroup and wife Fern of Belle, MO; other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, William J. Stroup, and two sisters, Geraldine Neff and Cheryl Hunter.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Ryan Martin officiating. Burial followed in the Bourbon Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
