Obituary for Earl "Bud" L. Moore

Earl Lloyd Moore age 63 of Sullivan, Missouri formerly of Hollywood Heights, Illinois passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 in SSM St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri.

Earl was born on March 19, 1954 to Earlin W. and Iva (Weimann) Moore in Belleville, Illinois. He grew up and attended school in Hollywood Heights, Illinois and went to work in his community as a young man. He was employed as a Teamster in Local # 618 and worked for Yellow Freight. He was united in marriage to Joyce Lucas in December of 2000. Earl was deeply rooted in his community of friends and family. He was a lifetime volunteer firefighter eventually coming up through the ranks and serving as Fire Chief of Hollywood Heights. Earl was one of the Founding Fathers of the Mutual Aid Group with several other local Fire Departments. If Earl was your friend, you had a friend for life. He loved to visit, tell jokes and stories and gave everyone a nickname. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Moore of Sullivan; three daughters, Patty (Steve) Jeffers of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Melissa (Jacob) Smith of Troy, Illinois and Malissa (James) Grimm of Sullivan; daughter in law, Brenda Johnson-Berry of Marissa, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, Jacob, Emily and Steven Berry, Elizabeth Krueger, Dustin Johnson, Kaitlynn and Abigail Grimm, Ashley and Amy Jeffers, Aubrey, Micah and Oliva Smith; cousins, Sue (Dave) Witter and Franky (Brenda) Weimann all of O’ Fallon, Illinois; numerous other cousins, relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Earlin and Iva Moore, Earl was preceded in death by his son, Jason Berry.

A Memorial service will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Hollywood Heights Volunteer Fire Department in Caseyville, Illinois.

Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan and Bourbon, Missouri.
