Obituary for Clarence E. Farmer

Clarence E. Farmer, age 78, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

Clarence Eugene was born on August 13, 1941 at St. Louis, Missouri, son of the late Clarence Farmer and Catherine Bakersmith. He grew up and attended school in St. Louis. Him and his family later moved to Strain Japan and bought a farm. Clarence honorably served our country in the United States Army. Following his service, he went to work at Pea Ridge Mine as an Electrician. After the closing of the mines, Clarence gained employment with Emerson Electric as a Commercial Electrician. He retired in 2007. Clarence was united in marriage to Erma Carter on June 5, 1996 and they blended their families together. Together, they enjoyed fishing, camping and watching golf. Clarence also enjoyed feeding critters on his deck and reading. Most of all, Clarence loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a member of the VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Clarence will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Clarence is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Erma Farmer of Sullivan; three children: Leigh Ann Reeves and husband, Mike, of Sullivan, Greg Farmer of Leasburg, MO, and Kim Saling and husband, Brad, of Sullivan; three step-children: Debbie Conaway of Sullivan, Mary Roberts and husband, Ron, of Clearwater, FL, and Sharon Amheiser and husband, David, of Leslie, MO; one sister, Kathy Sohn of St. Clair, MO; three grandchildren: Cody Reeves and wife, Amber, of Union, MO, Kylie Reeves of Sullivan, and Stevi Saling of Sullivan; five step-grandchildren: Ron Roberts, Jr. of Clearwater, FL, Dalton Roberts (significant other, Sam, & her son, Clayton) of Clearwater, FL, Dawson Amheiser of Leslie, MO, Chelsea Conaway (significant other, Dustin) of Sullivan, and Thomas Conaway of Sullivan; two great-grandchildren, Jersey & Khaleesi; seven step-great-grandchildren: Clayton, Rylie, Royce, Mason, Brooklyn, Emma, & Kaden; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Farmer & Catherine Hayes; one step-grandchild, Jesse Cash; and brother-in-law, Bob Sohn.

Cremation will take place. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
